Album Review

The Hot One Two – Superbia

This is an album that I have been looking forward to for quite a while. Album reviews are sometimes different today in this world of streaming, because by the time the album gets to you several of the tracks have already been heard individually.

I have enjoyed all the previous released tracks and have not a heard a bad track from this band. The album draws together all those tracks, The Fray, Tie Me Down, Is It Hot?, God Forsaken Blues, Demon Daze and Rolling Stone and adds to them with You’ve Got It (I Want It), Feeling Good, Something Real and Playing With Fire. Bringing all these tracks together makes you understand what listening to an album is all about. This is a full on rock album in the truest sense of the word and the wait has been worthwhile.

This is an album full of compelling energy that draws the listener in and doesn’t let you go. It is full of beautifully crafted songs which are a perfect distillation of what rock music is all about. This music demands that you not only listen but get involved and I will look forward to seeing it performed live.

The Hot One Two are a band who are on the way up and on the evidence of this release have a bright future. This will certainly be one of my albums of the year. It’s a 9/10 from me.
